I feel like it is weird as hell. But I watched it first when I was like nine, and then when I was just really tired.
Its kind of a disconcerting mess for all its stylistic clashes… And then sometimes its just weird and Silly. I can’t help but kind of respect it for its low budget creative work arounds…
Up until this point or maybe a few pages ago… my Initial read of Anton was he was not in fact from this world at all. Or possibly not quite from this timeframe…
All Escaflownesque or Vaguely Futuramatic post apocalypse or something I don’t know, but between his wide eyed bewilderment and Virgil’s fury at his ignorance, I kind of suspected he was more of an audience stand in… THIS SEEMS LESS THE CASE NOW, and now he appears more likely to be a wildcard up THE MASTER’s sleeve.
….this new perspective makes me hope there may be WORLD MAPS at some point though….

Yeah just from youtubing it the sheer amount of rotoscoped war footage they used to save animation money is sort of impressive/terrible

I can assure you though that Anton is in fact from the same world as the rest of these jerks, if from a slightly isolated corner of it.
