Giallo (Italian pronunciation: [ˈdʒallo], plural gialli) is an Italian 20th century genre of literature and film, which in Italian indicates crime fiction and mystery. In the English language it refers to a genre similar to the French fantastique genre and includes elements of horror fiction and eroticism. The word “giallo” is Italian for “yellow” and stems from the origin of the genre in Italy as a series of cheap paperback mystery novels which all had trademark yellow covers.
THANKS WIKIPEDIA.
Okay reverse order of definitions there: the YELLOW Kingdom. Which on its own is really a perfectly suitable name for a kingdom of art. Maybe Nevino is really blonde? Or Maybe if coloured the whole place would be yellows.
But if it was just the YELLOW kingdom, there is like fifty ways to say that that arent also a weird pulpy genre of sex, murder, crime and erotic horror….or horrific eros. WHICHEVER. I think it says something about an inherent intrigue of the kingdom. Almost Soap Opera-esque maybe. Possibly a certain melodramatic behavior is specifically cultivated.
But we have this lovely birds eye view of a town square type dealie where artists are congregating and communicating. its really nice to see this.
I realize inevitably its just backhground, but I am curious about that one semi-circle with the squares on it. Its not on a pedestal like most of the others, and it sort of looks like a robot head and shoulders.
All in all this is just a really beautiful page and I’d love to see it embiggened
ALSO WELDER MASK, GLOVES AND COVERALLS! YAAAAY. Also the lil dude in the corner of the bottom centre panel is ADORABLES.
A town of talented artist. Ohhh I can just imagine the torrents of self criticism. Im sure its deadly
(just) (so) (many) AMATEURS!!! lol jk >.<
