oh man I’m going to have to draw way too many crowds this chapter
And insane ones…
HAHAH YOUR DAD’S DEAD ANTON. Everyone you love is deeeeeaaaad.
But seriously, these scenes are where the title “BERET” really kicks into gear.
Is it important that Anton’s Dad did not wear a Beret? WHO KNOWS, MAYBE?
I am kind of weirded out by the BLUROVISION grayscale flashback… Because that rendering sort of gives the figure more volume and depth than Anton has. Meanwhile I am just delighted to look at all the weird window placements on those buildings in the backgrounds. It must be weird to be an architect there. on the one hand you want each Building to stand out and look marvelous. on the other hand you probably want to maintain a local theme so it doesnt become a disorganized Mishmash.
There is a grayscale rainbow in the sky. a GRAYNBOW.
also YAY Virgil’s face is back, and he’s sneering with Contempt at poor hillbilly Anton. But its that familiar “oh my god are you serious” Contempt, like an Older Brother looking after a younger sibling, rather than his cold hearted ditching of Anton cause he was worried he would embarass him…
….oh…wait… no. Its been that way the whole tiiiime.
The GRAYNBOW is actually intended to be the hazy distant form of the huge diamond structure in the center of the city. Now I kind of want to draw a greyscale rainbow though.
The BERETs are in fact a THING that will be elaborated on further
