Hahah JUST LIKE IN RAMONA THE BRAVE.
But yeah I really wanna see Virgil and Renard together so I can accurately gauge which one is my favorite character.
BUT SINCE THAT COULD BE MONTHS FROM NOW INSTEAD I WILL COMPARE THEIR STYLES AND PRACTICES….
So both Virgil and Renard are JERKS. (World o’ Jerks). Both are pretty cheerful in looking down on people. Virgil was pretty chill with lettin Anton fall to his doom, and Renard thought slicing open a guard would look great on his resume. Its Passive vs Active Jerkitude BUT STILL JERKS NONE THE LESS.
But BUT BUT…. The Passive and Active Jerkitudes are kind of symptomatic of their differing characters. Renard is ACTIVE, EXPRESSIVE AND DEMONSTRATIVE. He uses BROAD AGRESSIVE STROKES. And I said Expressive but yeah he seems like he would maybe be an Expressionist painter (OR RATHER POST IMPRESSIONST SAYS HIS PROFILE). But dude wears his heart on his Sleeve.
VIRGIL Aint that! He’s been pretty snide and pretentious but he plays his cards close to the chest (And folds them into duckies and stuff). But the way this page is working we are only seeing fractions of Virgil, much like a half folded origami piece. The Face he’s making AT ANTON is pretty cranky and like “TIRED OF YOUR WHINING” But the face he is making as he’s working is just perfect. Because he’s not ANGRY, or GRUMPY or SNIDE. it is an EXCITING NEW EMOTION WE HAVE NO SEEN FROM VIRGIL. And its apparently the way he feels when working. Because he is first and foremost a dedicated Craftsman. Careful deliberate and methodical. the delicacy in his hands in that stack of three panels is just beautiful. And twisting the paper into laces is just the most darling thing ever.
I love you Virgil you are currently BEST CHARACTER.
hahahah paper Booties. STAY OUT OF PUDDLES ANTON. ALSO YOU ONLY GET ONE.
This comment is amazing I am IN REAL LIFE laughing out loud

Im surprised the sound effects aren’t in this one. See, I knew he’d make him shoes ^^
I actually had them in the first version I uploaded but quickly replaced it with the soundless version, since I thought plastering this with words was ruining the effect. And yup, you were right!
Oh man, that’s so endearingly cute.
Paper shoe laces too, awesome!
